EU-India eSafety conference call for proposals

The EC-supported, ERTICO-coordinated EU-India eSafety project met in New Delhi, India, last week for the ‘Intelligent Future for Transport and Road Safety in India’ conference. It was held to discuss cooperation in real-time traffic information and emergency response services, and to make recommendations for future cooperation.

Highlights of the event included a showcase of European and Indian ITS technologies. Exhibitors from Europe included ERTICO Partners ITIS and LogicaCMG; as well as GEWI and Citilabs, and from Indian they included Pricol, Kritikal Solutions, AJS Scale and the Delhi College of Engineering.

ERTICO has been asked to prepare a proposal for the Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, within the areas of Electronic Toll Collection, Advanced Traffic Information Systems and Advanced Traffic Management Systems. The proposal should show what currently exists in Europe in these areas and what sort of pilot project could be carried out in India by European experts from industry and research.

ERTICO Partners and other European experts in public transport management are thus welcome to submit an expression of interest for a multimodal transport project in New Delhi which introduces ITS.
