The theme of the 2012 ITS World Congress was “Smarter on the way” with a focus on the benefits of ITS for all traffic user. ITS World Congress describes “Smarter on the way” to mean connecting seamlessly, serving customers and encouraging sustainability. This theme is consistent with GEWI’s exhibit which demonstrated how TIC CONNECTS – Systems – Vehicles – Travelers, since 1992.
ITS World Congress was held at Messezentrum Wien Exhibition & Congress Centre located in Vienna Austria which is known for a well-integrated transport system which provides good access to Vienna’s lively culture and contributes to an excellent standard of living.
The conference was held from October 22nd – 26th and featured over 1,000 expert presentations and 15,000 square metres of exhibit space. Hundreds of delegates from more than 25 countries around the world visited GEWI’s exhibit stand to view the latest enhancements to TIC3 including distribution of traffic data to the newest generation of variable message signs (VMS). GEWI will also demonstrate TIC for the iPad which provides a very user friendly solution for mobile traffic entry.
