Police, Radio, Roads and Cities attend GEWI User Group Workshop

User Groups have been an important element in GEWI’s Product Development process for the TIC Software product. Since the first version was released in 1997, TIC has evolved to be used by many different types of organizations. Until now, user groups had been held according to customer type, but for this most recent workshop GEWI invited 33 customers from 27 organizations representing four different customer types.

Users from police, radio stations, municipalities and road agencies all gathered at the Resort Schwielosee in Germany for two very productive days.

Direct customer involvement from the beginning of feature development ensures the features meet precise customer requirements which shortens development time by eliminating time wasted correcting errors in implementing features.

The agenda included the new TIC Smart Client for Web Browser which will be released later this year and adds support for the Work Zone feature. The 2020 release of the new TIC Smart Client for Windows was also on the agenda as well as precise location referencing and traffic control for complex events (for new clients).

GEWI plans to hold a similar workshop later in 2019 for Administrators to learn how GEWI may improve the overall Admin process.

The results of these workshops will be implemented into future releases which will benefit GEWI’s global customer base, now operating the TIC Software worldwide.
