GEWI has a long history of attracting some of the most talented technical staff in the industry. Thanks to the “Steps to work” program initiated by the IWS Institute and funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and from the state Saxony-Anhalt, two students were provided an opportunity to work firsthand with the GEWI technical staff.

September 4, 2012 – GEWI’s 20th Anniversary
On September 4th, 1992 in Stassfurt Germany, Hagen Geppert and Dr. Karl Will formed GEWI to create hardware and software to show traffic information on TV sets. Sony and Grundig were GEWI’s early clients along with the Automobile Association (AA) in the UK for which GEWI created TMC Office, the predecessor of what today is TIC.

Capturing new product requirements is very important to the GEWI business process. Continuous information gathering ensures the TIC product incorporates features required by customers today and into the future. To that end, GEWI will be attending Intertraffic in Amsterdam March 27-30, 2012.
Intertraffic is an international trade fair for infrastructure, ITS traffic management, safety and parking, all markets for which TIC can be used. In 2010, Intertraffic received nearly 25,000 visitors from 114 countries and GEWI is looking forward to attending the show.
