TIC Generates Graphical Images for VMS Signs

The new generation of roadside VMS (Variable Message Signs) can display graphical color images to vehicle drivers. TIC automatically creates graphical images which can contain a simplified road map, text, and icons based on up-to-date traffic information on the roads ahead.

GEWI Exhibited at 29th Annual ITS World Congress in Vienna

The 19th annual ITS World Congress featured over 1,000 expert presentations and 15,000 square metres of exhibit space. Hundreds of delegates from more than 25 countries around the world visited GEWI’s exhibit stand to view the latest enhancements to TIC3 including distribution of traffic data to the newest generation of variable message signs (VMS). GEWI will also demonstrate TIC for the iPad which provides a very user friendly solution for mobile traffic entry.

September 4, 2012 – GEWI’s 20th Anniversary

On September 4th, 1992 in Stassfurt Germany, Hagen Geppert and Dr. Karl Will formed GEWI to create hardware and software to show traffic information on TV sets. Sony and Grundig were GEWI’s early clients along with the Automobile Association (AA) in the UK for which GEWI created TMC Office, the predecessor of what today is TIC.

GEWI Adds Nils Richter to Product Development Team

GEWI is pleased to welcome product developer Nils Richter as the newest member of GEWI’s development team.

Nils graduated with an Engineering Degree in Geodesy and Geoinformation from Munich’s Universität der Bundeswehr and Communications Engineering Degree from the University of Applied Science in Dresden, Germany.
