GEWI North America’s CEO Jim O’Neill spoke on the topic of “Using connected vehicles to increase safety in work zones” on Monday afternoon May 27th in a session about Connected Vehicles. This was just one of over 55 technical papers that were presented during the conference, and GEWI was one of 30 exhibitors who displayed the latest technologies in Intelligent Transportation Systems.
The conference theme was “Intelligent Transport for Smart Cities” which fit well with both the paper which GEWI presented and the TIC3 product which GEWI exhibited. TIC3 is the result of over 15 years of product development as a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solution to customer requirements from all over the world for both public and private sector transportation related projects.
TIC has been used in live traffic information systems since 1997, and is used by many types of organizations including; government agencies, police, DOT’s, commercial RDS-TMC and TPEG service providers, automobile clubs, road operators, radio stations and car and device navigation manufacturers.
