GEWI and BMW to Demonstrate VMS2DASH at ITS New Jersey

Courtesy of BMW of North America, LLC Following the success of the VMS2DASH demonstration at ITS World Congress in Detroit, BMW and GEWI will again demonstrate this newest development of vehicle-to-infrastructure communication.

The demonstration will be held during the ITS New Jersey annual meeting which will be held October 14th at the Heldrich Hotel & Conference center in New Brunswick, NJ.

VMS2DASH would enable public agencies to transmit traffic information from variable message signs (VMS) on public roadways onto a vehicle’s in-dash information display. This would put important traffic messages directly in the driver’s field of view, providing information relevant to their specific location as well as their destination.

“Virtual VMS” messages can also be created where there is no physical VMS sign to alert drivers of hazardous driving conditions and saving public agencies the expense of purchasing additional signs.
Register for the ride-along demo at the registration desk at ITS New Jersey’s annual meeting on October 14th. For more information how TIC Connects Systems – Vehicles – Travelers, visit www.gewi.com.
