The TIC Radio Decoder product is a package that includes a USB powered FM radio receiver and the TIC software, and can be used to:
- Read the over the air received RDS data from the FM radio receiver.
- View the raw RDS data, and the decoded RDS data.
- View the decoded and decrypted RDS-TMC messages as traffic events:
- As a list of current traffic events, as well as all historical versions of the current traffic event.
- On a TMC location map.
- View quality indicators such as:
- FM signal strength.
- Maximum receive-interval of groups 3A, 4 and 8A.
- Record the raw RDS data in ASCII format as files.
The TIC Radio Decoder product is fully compliant with ISO standard 14819. It is available in multiple languages and can be provided with any TISA certified TMC Location table.
The TIC Radio Decoder product is valuable for:
- Checking live-data broadcast quality in a particular region, either at a fixed location or while driving.
- Testing and evaluation of navigation devices.
