Public road and toll road operators need to keep travelers informed about work zone and road conditions as well as creating and maintaining status information which can then be used to create performance indicators and reports.
TIC can be used both to collect and create work zone information using a TIC Client application on a mobile device or computer, or even from other systems and devices. Captured data can include a harmonized location reference, work type, status, times, and lane information such as restrictions, closures, and capacities.
Road conditions can be manually created by operators from reports or automatically collected from other systems, including from weather stations. Data can include surface conditions, visibility, harards, restrictions, closures, and more.
The resulting data can then be fully harmonized enabling the data to be consistently analyzed, used in performance reports, and distributed to information service providers who can inform and alert travelers.
