Greetings!

In this edition of the GEWI Newsletter we welcome SKODA Auto, the most recent client for TIC NavTest software. We also have news of product updates including TIC3's latest enhancements, the ability to collect GPS tracks in multiple formats such as NMEA and GPX and TIC for Traffic Enforcement. We'll also profile Tobias Rauche, a GEWI engineer that is central to the development of the ability to collect GPS data.

The exhibit season is underway, and following a very successful exhibitions at ITS America in Houston, Texas, ITS Canada in Ottawa, Ontario and Broadcast Asia in Singapore, GEWI is next on the road to Cologne Germany for the ITSA General Assembly.

We've also been working on the gewi.com web site. So, if it's been a while since you logged in, do pay us another visit. We've made many improvements over the past weeks with many more being planned for www.gewi.com.

For more information on SKODA Auto, ITS Canada, BroadcastAsia, or how TIC can be used for Traffic, ATIS, Navigation, Mobile Devices and more, see the QUICK LINKS section of this newsletter.

GEWI to Exhibit and Demo at TISA Assembly

TISA
The Traveller Information Services Association, (TISA) Committee Meetings and General Assembly will be held in Cologne (Germany) at the WDR exceptional "Funkhaus Wallrafplatz" venue on 22-23 June 2010. These events bring together all TISA Partners to summarize the association's activities and achievements.

GEWI has been an active member of TISA since it's inception and is a member of the TPEG Applications Working Group (TAWG) and the TMC Location Table Release Team. In addition, GEWI participates in the Technical and Standards Committee, the Content and Service Committee and the Products Committee.

At the Assembly, TISA members will have a chance to see the prototype of a multi modal TPEG platform of ARD, including both road and public transport. Besides traffic information, the Mercedes-Benz Oldtimer "SL 280 Cabrio" demonstrates the sound of 5.1 Audio Broadcast.

GEWI Europe's CEO Hagen Geppert will be demonstrating how TIC can be used for TPEG: TPEG broadcast services, TPEG connected services, TPEG TEC, TPEG TFP, tpgeML, TPEG binary and much more.

BMT will present the TPEG Analyser version 3.0, demonstrate "TPEG ON AIR" together with Mediamobile/TDF and a TPEG test layout with the cooperation of Averna.

SKODA Auto Signs GEWI NavTest Agreement

Skoda
GEWI is pleased to announce that SKODA Auto is the latest auto manufacturer to use TIC NavTest for navigation testing.

TIC NavTest is a software package used to construct data broadcasts in a test environment, typically when testing receivers and navigation systems.

SKODA Auto joins many other auto and device manufacturers who use TIC NavTest to compare the response of navigation sets and digital maps with different traffic-data scenarios ensure the overall system is functioning properly.

Alpine, AUDI, BMW, Bosch Car Multimedia, Daimler, Delphi, Mitsubishi, Sony, and TomTom are just a few of the many GEWI clients who use TIC NavTest as part of their quality assurance program.

TIC's capabilities for producing and testing navigation quality data have made it the preferred choice for automobile manufacturers, navigation device manufacturers and broadcast and connected service providers.

TIC Product Feature: Collect GPS Data

GPS TraceCOLLECT is one of the seven main features of the TIC product, which allows users to collect a data in many formats for use by the other features of the system, store, view, create, monitor, auto-create and distribute.

The latest enhancement to TIC3 allows GEWI clients the ability to now collect GPS data from stand-alone GPS receivers or mobile devices with built-in GPS receivers, such as the iPhone.

The collected traffic data can be shown on maps, but also to derive automatically traffic flow and traffic event data.

TIC3 on Display at ITS Canada

ITIS CanadaGEWI exhibited TIC3 at the ITS Canada Conference held June 13-16th at the Crowne Plaza in Ottawa, Ontario.

The overall Conference theme was "ITS: For Efficient, Safe and Clean Transport", recognizing the important role that intelligent transportation plays in moving people and goods efficiently, safely and sustainably across the country.

GEWI North America's CEO presented a paper on TPEG Technology and joined invited Canadian and international speakers who discussed the current state of ITS Technology worldwide. Attendees also learned about new policy and program developments, and the latest innovations and how they are being creatively integrated and successfully implemented.

TIC Product Feature: Traffic Enforcement

TIC for Traffic Enforcement
TIC3's new architecture makes it easy to add new information types.

Traffic enforcement data is the most recent data type that has been fully incorporated into TIC3.

Traffic enforcement includes many elements including, type of enforcement, location, type of installation, maximum legal speed, reported by, and more.

And, as with all TIC data types, it is a very simple process to add additional data elements to the Traffic Enforcement information type to provide maximum benefits to both the client and end user.

ITS America Display - "A Whole New Ballgame"

GEWI at ITS America
Attendees to ITS America were able to see firsthand why the new architecture of TIC3 really is "a whole new ballgame".

TIC3's ability to quickly and easily add new data types which are immediately available to all main features provides flexibility and extendability never before available in a product that can be deployed as rapidly and affordably as is possible with TIC3.

To support the theme of "a whole GEWI at ASTROS game
new ballgame", GEWI held a baseball event to watch the Houston ASTROS baseball team play the Arizona Diamondbacks at nearby Minute Maid Park in Houston. Attendees got a taste of Texas BBQ and other local dishes as well as GEWI TIC3 baseballs which were created especially for the event.

If you'd like to schedule a demonstration of TIC3, contact info@gewi.com.
