Data from the iPad app’s users can be shared and delivered to traffic information service operators, who then monitor, check, enhance and correct the information before releasing it. TIC easily connects to third-party systems so the same information can be distributed to different devices, to reach many people, such as emergency responders and the general public. Simple and familiar iPad multi-touch hand gestures are used to create, view, update, sort and filter traffic and travel event information. To use the TIC Smart Client for iPad, the application uses the device’s internet connection to access GEWI’s TIC server, which is provided as a free demonstration service. When starting the app, users are invited to apply for an account and if accepted, they can use the app with the demonstration service for a limited period of time.
