TIC solutions can be used to support several of the directive’s priority areas including real-time traffic information services, the provision of road safety-related traffic information, interoperability of emergency eCall services, and parking information for commercial vehicles.
GEWI has recently completed modifications to its TIC product which enables ITS services to comply with this directive and distribute safety related traffic messages through a variety of channels including, RDS-TMC, TPEG, news broadcasters, and more.
TIC will automatically alert TIC operators that a traffic and travel event is an EU specified safety message, for example adverse driving conditions, work zones, and wrong-way drivers.
Safety related events are automatically logged by the TIC system and then, based on configuration, can be simultaneously sent to all information distribution channels.
TIC can be used as a service or implemented on a customer’s own system, designed to support existing systems, including encoding of the digitized RDS-TMC and TPEG messages while simultaneously creating a broadcast ready script for radio and television broadcasts.
Attendees of the ITS Europe conference and exhibition in Glasgow will have an opportunity to see GEWI demonstrate TIC from 06-09 June 2016 at TISA stand C40 in the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre.
If you are unable to attend the conference, more information is available at www.gewi.com including local contacts in your region.
