With projects in 31 countries around the world, GEWI is experiencing firsthand the incredible challenges that our Customers, and their employees, are facing in every corner of the globe due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
It is ironic that by each of us staying apart, the global crisis is in fact bringing us all together as each of us deals with the same concerns of keeping our families safe and healthy.
With all the instability in the the world, our Customers have expressed their appreciation of the stability and consistency GEWI is able to provide. While many GEWI staff have changed where we work, how we work hasn’t changed at all.
Since 1992, GEWI has been providing solutions for the traffic and travel market, and in 2020 we continue responding to our Customer requests and project requirements as they also move to more distant and virtual environments.
Should you need any assistance, have questions or need further information, contact us at www.gewi.com.
Paddling down raging white waters in a raft may not seem the most stable thing to do, but it’s one of the many Company events organized by GEWI to ensure our staff plays as hard as they work.
This may be one reason why the average GEWI employee has been with the company for more than 13 years, including employee #1, Holger Kuske, who this year will celebrate 27 years with GEWI.
This resource stability ensures each customer that the same familiar contact person who is extremely knowledgeable of their business and project requirements is available to assist when needed.
GEWI will continue to maintain 100% staffing of our resources in Europe, the UK and North America.
The development of what today is known as TIC3 started in 1997. Each generation has evolved in response to advances in technology and the changing needs of GEWI Customers.
Prior to the global health crisis, GEWI had already been laying the groundwork for TIC4. With many customers putting new projects on hold or delaying upgrades and new product features, GEWI is using this time to make more progress on the planning of TIC4.
As the TIC4 planning continues, GEWI Customers are encouraged to submit their ideas by using the Feedback feature which is built into every TIC system.

Defee in Dubai
While it may be a while before GEWI can get together in-person with Customers as seen here in Dubai, we are fortunate to have so many long-term clients who we continue to assist in their efforts to maintain business as usual.
GEWI assisted many Customers in quickly setting up their employees to maintain high productivity in “Virtual TMC’s” from homes or other remote locations.
With access to all of the advanced features such as the Relation Window of TIC, operators are able to produce high quality traffic and travel event information which mirrors the situations in the real world, regardless of their location.
Over the years a number of GEWI Customers have successfully transitioned from hosting their TIC systems on physical servers in-house to Cloud based environments.
However a Customer choses to host, TIC retains the built-in flexibility and redundancy to ensure stability and up-time.
GEWI continues to investigate and test new hosting environments, such as AWS, in order to ensure the stability of all available options to customers and their TIC systems.
GEWI Profile: Our Amazing Team
The photo at left is from GEWI’s 25th anniversary BBQ held in 2017 at the first location of the company office.
We wanted to take this time to thank them, as well as our newer employees, who have allowed GEWI to continue serving our Customers and developing our Product during these difficult times.
We look forward to the day we can again get together as a group for the legendary GEWI events as well as Customer workshops.
