Since 1992

GEWI started as a specialist in designing programmable hardware for global TV manufacturers like Sony and Grundig. In 1993, they developed one of the first RDS-TMC FM receivers for airport traffic data displays, leading to the creation of their TIC product for traffic information management.

1992

​Company founded by Mr. Hagen Geppert and Mr. Karl Will as “GEWI Hard- und Software Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH”, registered in Germany.

1997

First version of TIC product (called TMC Office) released.

1997

First radio customer.

2000

Second generation of TIC product (called TIC1) released.

2002

Third generation of TIC product (called TIC2) released.

2004

​First customer project in USA.

2008

​First customer project in China.

2009

Fourth generation of TIC (called TIC3) released.

2010

​“GEWI Hard- und Software Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH” changed into “GEWI Europe GmbH & Co. KG”.

2013

First customer for TIC for Work Zone Management.

2015

First customer for TIC for Incident Response Management.

2017

Opened a second office in Germany (Leipzig).​

First customers to use TIC for 20 years.

2023

Your tasks

As a member of the client team, you will:

  • Specify new controls, designs and functionality together with our sales and customer teams.
  • Implement our web-based client application in close coordination with our back-end developers.
  • Test the web client, with special focus on integration in production-grade environments.
  • Document from developer and end user perspective.

Your profile

  • You hold a degree in computer science or a comparable course of study.
  • You already gained experience in developing complex web applications, ideally using TypeScript.
  • You already used vue.js or any other reactive framework.
  • You either speak English or German fluently.

  • Test the backend-services, with special focus on integration in production-grade environments.

Your profile

  • You hold a degree in computer science or a comparable course of study.
  • You already gained experience in developing complex .NET backend applications.
  • Ideally, you have already been using .NET 5, .NET 6, or .NET Core.
  • You either speak English or German fluently.

Memberships of industry organization

The Traveller Information Services Association (TISA) is a global, market-driven membership organization established as a non-profit. TISA focuses on the proactive implementation of traffic and travel information services and products based on established standards, primarily RDS-TMC and TPEG technologies. Additionally, TISA is dedicated to the development of future standards and services.

ITS Australia is an independent, not-for-profit membership organization that represents ITS suppliers, government authorities, academia, and transport businesses and users. Affiliated with key ITS organizations globally, ITS Australia plays a vital role in advancing the industry. Its core activities include organizing national summits and international conferences, fostering dialogue across transport modes and government jurisdictions, and promoting research and development.

ITS UK is membership body for the UK transport technology sector. It provides a national platform to support the roll out of technology for a cleaner, safer and more effective transport network, both at home and abroad, through advocacy to policy makers, connecting people and organisations, promoting the industry overseas and supporting innovation across the intelligent transport ecosystem.
